1. Introduction

To create an equal, diverse, inclusive and sustainable gender concept for the next generation, BRCF joined hands with UN Women in co-developing the "Peer Leadership for Healthy Relationships Program". It is China’s first program for promoting gender equality and preventing gender violence.
Through extensive peer education training sessions, this program aims at training adolescent gender equality peer trainers. This program brings down the restrictions of traditional classroom education and enhances the delivery of information and building of capacities regarding important issues in youth development such as puberty, peer relationships, gender identity, gender expression, prevention of gender discrimination and school violence. At the meantime, teacher workshops are held, producing gender equality trainer courses and teacher training manuals.
